Sunday, March 2 marks the first of a monthly event designed to inspire, titillate, activate, and reassure audiences and makers of Puppet Theater, circus arts, original theater, and art fans in general, of the transcendent potential of humanity and its arts! Tall order? Not for La Cucaracha Cabaret, named for the Mighty Cockroach and his resilient, subtly impetuous qualities.  We hope you will join us at this very first of a series of events that will bring you live music, original performance work of expansive ilk, and treats to eat in an intimate setting. Please help spread the word about la Cucaracha Cabaret by forwarding this email.

WED MAR 5
 10:45am
CRASH CYMBALS FOR PEACE!!!!
March 5th is a National Moratorium to Stop War On Iraq.
We are a classic, parade style band complete with tuba, drums, cymbals,
batons, American flags, satin and pom-poms, but beneath the glitz and glory
the marching characters are dressed as skeletons. It is an ironic image, and
grows in strength with the feverish pitch of celebration and Yankee-Doodle
pageantry laid atop of images of death.
This will be one independent action amongst many on the national
No School, No Work, No Business as Usual Day,
so please join in on the noise.
Time is running out.
And Time Watts for no one.
Our band of players will be meet downtown at 10:45 a.m. (exact location TBD)
for a suit up and brief rehearsal, then take to the populated sidewalks at
noon for our parade down Michigan Avenue.
There will be a number of painted skeleton costumes and black and white
make-up available on a first come-first serve basis, but you should dress in
all black so we can supplement with masking tape bones in a pinch. Extra
make-up would be helpful. Top costumes will include marching band hats and
epaulets (which we will provide) but please wear red, white, and/or blue
bottoms (pants, short skirts or shorts). Warm under layers would be smart.
Don¹t forget noisemakers, batons, pom-poms and/or any musical instruments,
and a warm thermos. No worries about musical ability.
